This webpage was designed just for you! Lord knows I have just a short time to keep your attention, so I'll keep most of this information quick and to the point.
- You are SLEEP DEPRIVED...
- Yes you are!
- The truth is, if we placed you in a basement without clocks, access to time and you did not know when is was dawn, dusk, daylight or night you would sleep for 14-16 hours daily for about three weeks.
- That is called paying off your sleep DEBT!
- You owe about 350 hours to yourself, because it keeps building year after year...just like the national debt!
- Disturbed sleep robs you of tissue repair and regeneration, proper hormonal production, natural circadian rhythm, and much more.
- Now take the next 60 seconds to determine why you are not sleeping.
- What part of your body has trouble slowing down? And shutting off?
- Is it your mind/brain, arm/leg activity, body discomfort, nasal passages (snoring), anxiety(nervous system), prostate(urinary), hot flashes/menopause, teeth grinding.
- You probably have more than one area above bothering you.
If so, we need to sit down and have a heart to heart discussion and come up with a treatment plan. The Basics of Better Sleep- Go to bed and get out of bed about the same time each day.
- Yes, this means weekends too!
- Make your room as dark as possible, by keeping the light out.
- Turn the air conditioning down.
- Allow yourself to move around and try new sleeping positions.
- Drink your daily fluids before 7pm.
- Use sleep aids as a very last resort.
- Return to "Grandma's advice" for better sleep...warm glass of milk, reading relaxing up-lifting material before bed, minimal eating after 8pm.
- Go to bed with a clear conscience, forgive or forget as best you can.
- Turn off the TV/Internet 1hour before bed.
- A short, slow relaxing walk at dusk.
- Take in natural sunlight during the day, this stimulates your day/night rhythm.
- Cherry Juice twice daily may help.
- Earplugs or eyemasks, if you can get used to them may also do the trick.
